The New York Times reports that a group of feminists in Mexico says an awareness campaign, using the image of a beautiful woman to grab the attention of turtle poachers and keep them from harming animals this fall, promotes negative stereotypes of women and should be canceled.
The move made Fay Crevoshay, communications director for San Diego-based environmental group Wildcoast, angry enough that she vowed to hang the posters herself in support of the awareness campaign.
