TUSCON -- We all hate it, yet we all have to deal with it. Bert Williams from Williams & Assoc. recently sent out an e-mail announcing his new e-mail address because he was getting too much SPAM. His message and the responses to that message show how sensitive e-mail marketing is, and how important it is for people to opt-in to your list. Read on and be entertained ...

And the responses to Bert's e-mail ....
- I and I'm sure everyone you sent this to empathizes with you! We do need to do something to stop this insidious spam scam!
- Maybe you should be the one telling us how much Viagra one person can use?
- Got the new email, thanks. I have been contemplating changing mine, usually get about 150 each night.
- Your e-mail was GREAT. Someone needs to pay attention to the e-mail junk problem. And I enjoyed the humor in your message. You might want to think about the Viagra, however. It's useful as you get older because it'll help keep you from rolling out of bed at night. (Think about it).
- Surely you were joking here. There are very very very few things that
the federal gov't should be responsible for and spam problems are
definitely not one of them. :-) - I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID.
Quote: “There is no pain in change. The only pain is in the resistance to change.”
I too resist change and sometimes resent the intrusion into my privacy by strangers trying to sell me something I neither want nor need (Viagra, Home loans, Printer toner…………….). I would not take their sales calls, so why do I have to deal with their incessant emails. Who are “they”? I suppose there is a price to pay for convenience.
Bummer!! Maybe people will have to revert to the "old fashion way" and just call you! Change is not always better.
- Couldn't agree with you more.....SPAM is a PAIN that should be better controlled......
After all, how much Viagra can one person use?
Some more than others....I share your frustration but I have to hand it to AOL. They have virtually eliminated spam for me. If I get three a week that's unusual.
